William Stuart is a student of George Abbot School in Guildford, UK. The school is in the north-east of the town, within 20 miles of London. It is set in pleasant grounds with a large field and an adventure play area.This is a Specialist School in Arts and Languages.
Every morning William wakes up at around 7.00 am. First he checks if his pet budgie is all right and his day really begins. After the morning chores, he prepares himself breakfast. He usually drinks a glass of juice and has a large bowl of cereals with milk.
Then he gets ready for school. First he checks his school bag and puts on his school uniform; a shirt, a tie, a blazer, trousers and shoes. William prefers casual clothes like hoodies, tracksuits and trainers but he knows that breaking the rules about school uniform results in automatic detention.
There is a school bus that carries students to and from school. William doesn’t have to take the school bus because he lives near the school. He usually leaves home at 8.00 am. It takes him twenty minutes to come to school on foot. If the weather is nice he goes to school by bike.
School offers a wide variety of clubs for all students to join and enjoy. There is a morning sports club before registration from 7.30 to 8.30. During the lunch break William joins Chess Club. He is very good at playing chess and he always beats his opponents. Art, Card games, band or Web are other four options that students can take up. He stays for Football club. There are nine more clubs that students can choose from; cookery, eco, drama, school choir, craft, sewing, netball, cross country and homework. These clubs are free. However, there are also fee paying clubs at his school that are run by external agencies like crickets, dance and karate. After school he never goes straight home.
Normally William finishes school at 3.20 but Mondays and Wednesday are his busy days because his school day ends at 4.20. When he comes home, he makes himself a light snack and waits for his parents. At about 5 o’clock in the afternoon, William starts working for school. First he puts his school notes in a folder. Then he writes his homework. He always studies the hardest things first and then moves to easier ones. While studying William often draws charts and colourful pictures that help him learn efficiently.
Dinner is ready at 6pm and this is William’s favourite time of the day because he spends some quality time with his parents. They have fun telling each other about talking over the day’s happenings or the family makes plans for the next day. After the meal William washes up or cleans the table. Then he goes to his room and prepares his school bag and clothes for the next day.
